I never thought I could be an athlete. When the opportunity came, I gave everything I had. At my first race, I broke the speed record. But at the next one, I came in second last. My confidence was shattered. To help me overcome my doubts, my loved ones challenged me to outrace them - and I did. That made me realise that my greatest competition is myself. By conquering my fears, I've turned my disability into a winning advantage.
Perseverance.
That's the Singapore Spirit I'm taking to the Games!
