Amongst the hundreds of celebrations to mark National Day in schools around the country, Temasek Secondary School has stood out this year by deciding to show their support for Team Singapore while celebrating National Day.
Student leaders from the Peer Support Group led fellow students and staff to achieve two amazing feats for the school.
The first is the highest newspaper pyramid structure to show their support and well-wishes to the Team Singapore athletes. The second is a human formation with the words “I ♥ Team SG" in an attempt to break the world record of having the most number of people doing the frog jump wave.
The Executive Committee members of the Temasek Secondary Peer Support Group expressed their satisfaction towards the final result and the hard work put in by all. Valerie, a secondary 3 student, said that although they had to stay up until 3am to get the pyramid structure finished, she felt that the students formed a bond not only among themselves but a bond towards the cause of supporting Team Singapore. Her classmate Angeline also reflected upon the challenges they faced building the structure especially from its conception two months ago in which she found out that “communications was the hardest part”.
Before they left, the girls had two personal well wishes for Team Singapore Athletes for London 2012
Angeline: “All the best Team Singapore, Singapore will support you all!”
Valerie: “All the best and hope that you will bring back the medals!”
Thank you to students and staff of Temasek Secondary for their efforts to support Team Singapore and Happy National Day to everyone!
