(The Quest For Medals Continues For Team Singapore Athletes)

As the SEA Games competition in Vientiane enters its final few days, Team Singapore athletes continue their quest for more medals to add to the 28 golds, 19 silvers and 25 bronzes already in the bag.

Table Tennis, Shooting

In Table Tennis, the prospects for more gold in the Men's and Women's Singles events are bright as Feng Tianwei, Wang Yuegu, Yang Zi and Gao Ning prepare to go into action. In Shooting, Kasmijan Kimin, Zhang Jin & Ong Jun Hong, taking part in the Men's 50m 3 Positions 3 X 40 event, will want to ride on the shooters' success here. The team have won six gold medals so far.

Silat, Long Jump, Badminton

Silat's hopes will be on Saifuddin Julami [Men's Class D (60-65kg)], Shakir Juanda {Men's Class F (70-75kg)] and Shafiq Saiful [Men's Class G (75-80kg)] while Matthew Goh hopes to do us proud in the Men's Long Jump in Track & Field. In Badminton, athletes to watch for include Hendra Wijaya & Vanessa Neo (Mixed Doubles), Derek Wong and Ashton Chen (Men's Singles) and Zhang Beiwen (Women's Singles). Also still in the running are Hendra Wijaya & Jeffrey Wong and Jonathan Tang & Terry Yeo in the Men's Doubles as well as Frances Liu Fan & Vanessa Neo and Shinta Sari & Yao Lei in the Women's Doubles.

Cue Sports, Petanque

Cue sports will feature Chan Keng Kwang and Toh Lian Han (9 Ball Pool Singles), Peter Gilchrist (Men's English Billiards Singles) and Charlene Chai [9 Ball Pool Singles (Womens)]. Finally, in Petanque, the Men's Triples event features Cheng Zhi Ming, Cheng Zhi Qin, Goh Wee Teck & Gary Tan while the Women's Triples event will see Goh Hoei Bein, Vicki Heo, Nur Izzali Ismail & Ong Ruo Ning in action.
