Commonwealth Games medallist Vanessa Yong (shooting, pix) as well as SEA Games gold medallists Ronald Lam (water polo) and Ruth Ng (fencing) are among the recipients of the latest SPEX study grant aimed at helping athletes combine sports and studies.

Other names on the latest list include Clarence Lee (table tennis), Lim Zhi Cong (swimming), Mohamad Saifuddin Bin Mohamad Julaimi (silat), Quincy Quek (golf) and Premila Hirubalan (netball).

Apart from athletes representing the better known sports, there are winners from other sports as well. Among them are Jeremy Aruldoss (karate), Andrea Chen (canoe), Kevin Goh (chess) and Saket Jhajharia (gymnastics).
