Fifth To Third
Competing in the Girls’ Techno 293 event at the East Coast Park, the 15-year-old did well in her final race to move from fifth to third place, behind Thailand’s Siripon Kaewduang-ngam and Italy’s Veronica Fanciulli.
No Such Joy
There was no such joy for the other Team Singapore sailors. World champion Darren Choy, one of the favourites for gold, did not manage to finish in the top three of the Boys’ Byte CII competition. He was placed seventh overall on the leaderboard. The gold went to Ian Barrows of the US Virgin Islands while Germany’s Fiorian Haufe and Holland’s Just van Annholt won the silver and bronze respectively.
Fifth Overall
Singapore sailor Natasha Yokoyama came in fifth overall in the Girls’ Byte CII event, with gold going to Austria’s Lara Vadlau. Holland’s Daphne Van der Vaart won the silver while Germany’s Constanze Stolz clinched the bronze.
