The men’s waterpolo team delivered yet again, winning their 24th SEA Games gold medal today (Nov 18), while the sailors secured at least two gold medals even before the last day of the sailing programme on Saturday.

Water Polo

In Palembang, the waterpolo team beat Malaysia 15-7 to keep a clean record at this SEA Games. They had earlier won all their matches in the round robin tournament. Their combined results ensured them the gold, with Indonesia winning the silver while Thailand took the bronze. With this result, the Singapore men matched the women’s water polo team who had enjoyed a golden debut at this SEA Games.

Sailing

In winning their races in Jakarta today, Optimist sailor Elisa Yukie Yokoyama and women's 470 pair of Dawn Liu and Sara Tan secured golds. With their insurmountable leads in their respective events, they would go into Saturday's final two races knowing they had won their titles already.
