"I started participating in sports when I was 6 and started off with gymnastics. Due to the training, I became fitter and more agile than most people. Eventually I was asked to join the track team in Primary school. I grew to love it as it was fun and very fulfiling. When I won my first medal in primary 4 I knew that I wanted to continue in track. I when on to Singapore Sports School. So I went for the trials, got selected and never looked back. The hurdles are obstacles that I have to clear before i get to the fininshing line, therefore, to know that I cleared all the ten hurdles make me happy that I succeeded in clearing them all. My coach has been great in propelling me forward to my goals, pushing me to strive for my dreams and that is another reason why i love my sport more. Even though there will be bumps and bruises from hitting the hurdles while training, or even the possibility that I might fall and hurt myself during a race because of a misplaced step, it adds to the thrill of my event and my love of doing it will not decrease.
When not training or studying, I spend time with my friends as I live in the school. For five days a week, I am usually away from home and therfore my friends are like my second family. We go to the Recreation Room in the school compund, and watch tv, play pool or play the various other games provided. I love reading, anything under the sun that contains words and can draw me out of the real world and into the book. Reading helps me leave my troubles and ignite the creativity in me. I also like to surf the net for funny pictures or jokes for they will come in handy to entertain myself and my friends in the future. I also like watching comedy series like Chuck."
