By Peh Siong San & Chistopher Ong Singapore added two bronzes today yesterday (Dec 3) to their rich collection of medals at the SEA Games shooting competition in Thailand. With this latest result, we have now won 8 gold, 6 silver and 6 bronze medals.
Two Bronzes For Eugene In the men's skeet team event, the Singapore team of Eugene Chiew, David Chan and Lee Yee (picture) managed a total of 328 birds, just behind Thailand (342) and the Philippines (334). In addition, Eugene earned himself a bronze in the men's individual skeet event. He scored a total of 134, behind the top two finishers, Thailand's Hathaichukiat Jiranunt (138) and Varadharmapinich Krisada (136). Coming From Behind To earn the bronze, the Singaporean had to come from behind to edge out Filipino Paul Brian Rosario. Recalling the way he fought back, Eugene said," I didn't expect to be able to catch up. Afterall, Paul was the gold medallist at the previous SEA Games. But I just kept the pressure on him during the final. I had nothing to lose."
