Silat Exponents Do Singapore Proud

Team Singapore enjoyed a successful outing at a silat competition last month.
Hosted by Malaysian Silat Federation ( PESAKA, Selangor ) Team Singapore competed against
teams from the Malaysian states, various Malaysian Defense Force groups and
Malaysian universities. Our athletes emerged champions in various
categories.
Intense Battles
In all, we had four teams taking part in the Men, Ladies, Boys and Girls
categories. The senior teams were made up mainly of athletes representing
Singapore at the coming SEA Games in Thailand while the junior teams
comprised mainly athletes from the Singapore Sports School. After some
intense battles, we emerged champions in all categories except the men
category where we emerged first runner- up.
Featured Athletes
Among the senior athletes who represented Singapore were Md Asadullah,
Hasyer Umar, Shakir Juanda, Saiedah Said, Farah Norashikeen and Nur
Dinniyati. Junior athletes featured included Hamka Saadon, Md Sharin, Md
Danial, Nur Shafiqa, Nur Fazlyn and Nurul Khairunnisa.
